Change the Sourcing Questions When the Product Category Changes
A useful question for a hoodie can be irrelevant for earbuds. Keep one core supplier record, then switch the evidence fields with the product category.
Quick answer
Use one shared record and one category-specific checklist
Every candidate needs an item code, source, quantity basis, quote date and responsible contact context. The product-specific checks begin after that common record is complete.
Do not publish brand wholesale pages without a lawful and supportable reason to use those trademarks. A catalog label is not authorization, authenticity or affiliation.
You are comparing several product families or preparing a mixed inquiry.
Apply the core fields once, then add only the checks that change the category decision.
Shorter messages, clearer QC requests and fewer irrelevant questions.
Clothing: make the size method visible
Record fabric composition, the measured size, endpoints, construction details and care information. A letter size without a method cannot support a consistent run across shirts, hoodies or outerwear.
- Chest width and body length measured flat
- Fabric weight or composition with source
- Print, embroidery, seam and label details
- Color and size minimums
- Packed quantity and garment weight
Footwear: separate fit from appearance
Preserve the label size, foot, insole or outsole measurement type, sole construction, material and packed weight. Similar side profiles do not establish the same sizing or source.
- Exact model or product code
- Size system and measurement method
- Side, top, heel and sole views
- Pair and box packaging basis
- Size-run minimum and replacement terms
Bags: measure usable space
Record external and internal dimensions, empty weight, lining, closure, hardware, strap range and included pieces. For backpacks or crossbody styles, note how the opening and compartments affect capacity.
Accessories: define the selling unit
One quote may describe a piece, pair, set, pack or mixed assortment. Record material, dimensions, finish, fastening, variant minimum and packaging unit before comparing prices.
Electronics: compatibility comes first
Record the exact model, connector, voltage or charging specification, compatibility, included parts, relevant battery information and current safety documentation from the responsible source. A photo match cannot establish performance.
